When you're ready

Self-Pleasure as Practice

Phase 1 of 6

Container

Warm the room. Towel, oil, water nearby. Lie down on your back, blanket within reach. One sentence aloud: you are here to feel, not to finish.

Phase 2 of 6

Arrival breath

Belly breathing: slow inhale through the nose into the lower belly, audible exhale through a soft mouth. On each exhale, soften the jaw and pelvic floor as if you were melting from the inside. Continue until the belly rises and falls without effort. One palm on the lower belly, one on the heart.

Phase 3 of 6

Mapping touch

Move the hand slowly: chest, ribs, hips, inner thighs. Long strokes, flat palm, one stroke per exhale. Stay away from the genitals. Notice where the body asks for more and where it asks for stillness. If you find a place that hums, stay there without agenda.

Phase 4 of 6

Approaching

Warm oil between the palms first. Approach the genitals with a still, flat hand resting over them. Several breaths of contact without movement. Feel blood arrive, heat gather, the body widen. Let arousal arise on its own, not because the hand insists.

Phase 5 of 6

Waves

Begin slow contact on the clitoris or shaft: small circles, light pressure, long pauses. Each time arousal climbs, hold the hand still and breathe instead of speeding up. Imagine the wave moving up through the belly, chest, and throat rather than concentrating in one place. Stay slower than your habit. Sound is welcome if it helps the body stay soft.

Phase 6 of 6

Rest and close

Both hands rest, one over the lower belly, one over the heart. Six slow breaths. Notice whether any part of the body is more alive than usual. Stay still for at least one full minute before getting up.

Coming back

After the ritual

  • No screens for the next twenty minutes.
  • Drink water.
  • Notice during the day whether the body feels more or less awake than it usually does.
