When you're ready

The Wheel of Self-Touch

Phase 1 of 6

Set the container

Sit or lie down. Light blanket nearby. Three slow breaths into the belly. Name aloud one body limit for tonight: where touch can go, and where it will not.

Phase 2 of 6

Serving: ask the body

Ask silently: how would you like to be touched, for your pleasure? Let the body answer before the hand moves. Forearm, collarbone, belly, inner thigh: give only what was asked for. Notice the difference between guessing and listening.

Phase 3 of 6

Taking: touch for you

Now shift. The question is: what do I want to feel under my hand, within the limit I set? Choose pressure, speed, and place for your own pleasure, not to perform. Genital contact is allowed if it is truly what you want to take. Stay slow. Notice whether taking feels clean or greedy.

Phase 4 of 6

Receiving: let it in

Now receive. The hand gives a steady, chosen touch: chest, hips, or genitals, within your limit. Your job is to feel yourself being touched, not to improve the sensation. If the mind critiques, return to the skin. This is touch as a gift arriving.

Phase 5 of 6

Allowing: stay still

Rest the hand on the place that wants attention most, genitals included if within your limit. Minimal movement. Let heat, pulse, or arousal rise without directing it. You are allowing the body to respond. If a peak approaches, breathe and stay: allowing is not chasing.

Phase 6 of 6

Rest and notice

Hands rest on the body. Recall the four rounds. Notice which quadrant felt most natural and which felt unfamiliar. Six slow breaths before closing.

Coming back

After the ritual

  • Write one sentence: which kind of touch did your body trust most easily?
  • Carry the question into the next time someone touches you.
  • Drink water.
