Slow Sex Reset
A full hour drawn from Diana Richardson's approach: relaxation inside arousal, less goal-orientation, more sensitivity.
Intention
Diana Richardson's slow sex teaches that arousal and relaxation are not opposites. When the body stays soft inside contact, sensation deepens rather than peaks. The practice is inner fusion: two bodies meeting with breath, stillness, and unhurried nerve endings. This ritual is best for couples whose intimacy has become quick, habitual, or release-focused.

Slow Sex Reset
Container
Warm bed, fresh sheets, soft lighting. Water nearby. One small piece of fruit or chocolate on a plate.
Lying together, clothed
Lie down facing each other, clothed, no agenda. Find a shared breath without naming it: belly soft on the exhale, jaw loose. Let the conversation, if any, stay quiet and slow. Nothing escalates here.
Undressing slowly
Undress each other one piece at a time. After each piece, pause for one full breath before the next. Hands stay still between pieces. Notice skin cooling, then warming again in the air. This is the practice, not the prelude.
Resting skin to skin
Lie together with full body contact, on your sides. Top arm draped over the partner. Stay still for a long time. If arousal rises, soften the belly and pelvic floor instead of moving. Let warmth pool everywhere skin meets skin.
Soft union
If both are ready, come into very slow penetration or external genital contact with no thrust. Penis inside vagina or anus, fingers on clitoris or shaft, or bodies pressed still: choose what fits tonight. Stillness inside the meeting. Breath stays slow. If erection or wetness comes and goes, this is not a problem. Relaxation is the work, not performance. If penetration does not fit tonight, continue with skin-to-skin holding instead.
Close
Separate slowly. Lie together face to face. One specific appreciation each (one concrete thing you noticed, not a compliment). Eat the small piece of fruit together.
After the Ritual
- Sleep close if it is night.
- Avoid screens for an hour.
- Notice over the next week whether your default pace has shifted.
